Biblical theology for children
Here is a rave review of the "Big Picture Story Bible". If Biblical Theology is a sound way of understanding God's purposes throughout history, then Sunday School teaching needs to move away from a series of disjoint stories with no connection and "quick moral fixes" to explaining how God's purposes unfold in the Bible.
Another useful resource from this point of view is "The King, the Snake and the Promise", an Australian enhanced CD which is published in the UK by the Good Book Company. This is a retelling of the story of the Bible through songs. Some aren't exactly singable by congregations, but the whole thing includes activities, and would make a good production for a church youth group. It has also been used for holiday clubs.
